Resolution – Complete the Bill of Rights

Whereas, our Founding Fathers originally intended for The People to have one representative for every 50,000 citizens; and

Whereas, they presented to the States 12 Articles in the Bill of Rights, 10 of them being immediately ratified, one of them being ratified in 1992, and one of them still pending; and,

Whereas, eleven states have already ratified this proposed amendment to give EVERY AMERICAN better representation; and,

Whereas, Congress passed an unconstitutional law in 1929 (the Reapportionment Act of 1929), so that Congress would not grow as the nations grew in population; and

Whereas, the current 435 current “Representatives” live as if they were the Lords of the Realm, having lost touch with the common people, listening instead to the ever-powerful lobbying interests, it’s clear they need some help in remembering who they are supposed to represent.

Be it therefore resolved that We, the People, have some unfinished business to take care of, by restoring the House of Representatives back to representing us, as intended; and,

Be it further resolved that we call upon the legislature of the State of Texas to ratify that final pending Article of the original Bill of Rights – our First Right as defined by law.

Adopted this ____ day of _______, 20__, at the Precinct Convention of Precinct # ____ of the _______ Party of Texas.
