A Populist Path To Power?

Posted by on Jun 14, 2014

If Jeb and Hillary are both in the lists in 2016, it will be God’s gift to pitchfork populists. “I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.” If Thomas Jefferson’s benign reflection on Shays’ Rebellion, that uprising of farmers in 1786 and 1787, is not the first thought that comes to mind today for his fellow Virginian Eric Cantor, surely it is understandable. For the rebellious subjects of the 7th Congressional District just voted to end...

Scott Wagner’s presumed win a historic first

Posted by on Mar 20, 2014

Update: Politicos and election officials are confirming Republican Scott Wagner’s apparent victory in the 28th Senate as the first time a write-in candidate has won an election for state Senate in Pennsylvania. Only about 22,300 voters cast ballots in Tuesday’s special election, for a turnout of 13.6 percent, according to unofficial numbers from the county’s elections office. Here’s The York Dispatch’s coverage of the historic win: In what appears to be an unexpected victory for a conservative businessman who has...

Cruz Control?

Posted by on Feb 20, 2014

Freshman Senator Ted Cruz says many things that need to be said and says them well. Moreover, some of these things are what many, if not most, Americans believe wholeheartedly. Yet we need to remember that the same was true of another freshman Senator, just a relatively few years ago, who parlayed his ability to say things that resonated with the voters into two terms in the White House. Who would disagree that if you want your doctor, you should be able to keep your doctor? Who would disagree with the idea of a more transparent administration...

GOP Would Rather Shove “Immigration Reform” Down Our Throats Than Win Elections

Posted by on Jan 17, 2014

I write this as an “open borders/free residency” conservative. That is: Other than law enforcement and national security (both of which are important and need to be taken seriously!) I don’t think we should stop people from coming here and working here. I take it for granted that welfare should be off limits and that people who become citizens should be required to speak English and pass serious civics tests. The fact that we can’t trust liberals to do things that we should all take for granted is the best argument, to my mind, for...

Our Real Roots

Posted by on Nov 10, 2013

Are you tired of hearing today’s conventional wisdom telling us that the Bible had no part in the founding of this country? Or that the Founders wanted something called “separation of Church and State”? Or that America was not raised up to greatness by our Christian heritage? Read this, share it with your children, and then make it available to every educator you know. It’s time to push back with facts and assert ourselves as Christians who have a duty to try to save this country from its suicidal path of abandoning...

Affordable Boat Act

Posted by on Nov 6, 2013

The U.S. government has just passed a new law called: “The affordable boat act” declaring that every citizen MUST purchase a new boat, by April 2014. These “affordable” boats will cost an average of $54,000-$155,000 each. This does not include taxes, trailers, towing fees, licensing and registration fees, fuel, docking and storage fees, maintenance or repair costs. This law has been passed, because until now, typically only wealthy and financially responsible people have been able to purchase boats. This new laws...

Constitution 101: Congress vs.POTUS (Courtesy of Sen. Schumer)

Posted by on Oct 26, 2013

Sometimes I really wonder about the brain trust we call Congress.  Yes, they are at it again.  This time the constitutionally challenged member is Senator Chuck Schumer.  He supposedly has a law degree from Harvard Law, per the biography on his website.  I say supposedly because that would mean he, of all people, should have more than a passing knowledge of the Constitution and how it divides the powers of our government.  Alas, this isn’t the case, since the illustrious Senator thinks that he can, through legislation, shift the power...

27 Reasons the Republican Party Needs to Die

Posted by on Sep 28, 2013

There are 48 Republicans in the U.S. Senate. They had the opportunity this week to stop a national train wreck, but instead, two of them abstained, and 25 of them voted to impose Marxism upon the American people in the form of Obamacare. To their credit, 19 Republican senators voted “NO”. That is to say that 41% of the Republicans voted for the Constitution. Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader, gave us a glimpse of how he thinks when he said, “When you fund it, you own it.” Translated, that means, “We’re fine with...

Sick and Tired of Being Played for a Sucker?

Posted by on Aug 13, 2013

When I tell people that the political scene in this country is a disaster, it’s not something they don’t already know. Those who believe we can salvage the Republic by voting for the less socialist of the two major parties are brainwashed.  We’ve been played for suckers for too long.  As Eddie Childs used to say, “I’m mad as hell, and I’m going to do something about it!” There’s a lot of talk these days about secession, and truth be known, it appeals to all who believe in freedom.  We’ve tried it twice in this country and...
