Resolution – Firearms Safety in Schools

WHEREAS the Constitution of the united States expressly forbids any abridgement upon the right of the People to keep and bear arms; and

WHEREAS the civilian population today does not have the same access to firearms that our ancestors did, and therefore they are not as conversant in the practice of firearm safety;

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that we, the People, call upon the Texas legislature to mandate firearms safety in our public and private schools, beginning in Kindergarten and continuing through twelfth grade; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we call for the proficient use of firearms to be taught, beginning in grade seven, and to allow for interscholastic competition between high schools throughout the State.

Adopted this ____ day of _______, 20__, at the Precinct Convention of Precinct # ____ of the _______ Party of Texas.
